Why Aren’t More Women Taking the Lead in Project Management?
Women make up around a third of the project management population — a figure that hasn’t changed a great deal over the last few years — and they also continue to be largely absent from leadership roles in major projects.

It means you need to find another project..
You get one screw up per level unless you were an a-hole (ie refused to do the work, listen or attempt to get better).
Everyone gets a project here and there where they just dont gel.
Learn and move on
Thank you all so much. I’ve really been down on myself because I felt like a failure. I really appreciated the encouragement. Im ready to kick ass on the next project
What level are you? This is not a career-ending thing. Everyone makes mistakes or has a bad project. Have a conversation with your CC about it, and be open and accepting of the improvement suggestions. Tell your CC you are motivated to work hard and improve yourself on the next project, and ask if they have any other contacts you can reach out to about getting staffed.
Nope. Happened to me on one of my projects . I left that project and things fell in place for me. Got promoted and now 4 years with the client I picked up after. Everything plays out for a reason. Find the next gig
Learn where you need to improve so you aren’t in a similar situation in the future. Also try to find a role that plays to your strengths.
You’ve been there for 2 months. They’re happy you haven’t drooled on yourself. You should have another 4 months where you can actively take feedback, learn, and improve where it will just be s blip.
On your next project, schedule a 30-minute meeting with your supervisor to ask for expectations for the role.
Same happened to me. Probably wasn’t the right fit. Kill it on the next one! obla di obla da life goes on
OP did this come out of nowhere? Were there opportunities to improve?
Same thing happened to me. I’m looking for another job during this holiday break. Don’t think I’ll get fired but realized this is not something I want to do
Not the end of the world. Take some time to regroup and reassess. And then find another project pronto
Agree - accenture already spent a lot of money on recruiting and hiring you. They’re not going to let you go so easily without providing another opportunity for improvement.
It’s okay OP, it happens to the best of us at some point. This is the time to show humility and not be stubborn with those giving you advice. I’m sure there is some excuse you want to give them, we all want to say these things but it’s better just let the storm sail rather than trying to beat it. Take the advice to heart and put your head down and crush the next project. You can do it
@A1 they said I’d get another project but I was worried they were just saying that, and that I’d be laid off
Yes. But really no
@SC1Im trying to be positive; I was pretty down on myself and felt like a failure. Appreciate that insight
Op what feedback did you get? What areas were you lacking in?
@SC1 Didn’t learn quickly enough, didn’t ask good questions
@A3 I’m a consultant, I started two months ago (came from industry)
