I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

Very tough to enjoy a job when the M and you don’t see eye to eye
Many, many studies have shown that people’s happiness with their job is is most directly impacted by their relationship with their boss. Yeah the pay boost is awesome, but if you’re going to hate working there because you hate your boss, is it going to be worth it?

Wow 40% more for an industry role!! I need offers like this :) that being said ..in Corporate, you live and die by your Manager..so keep that in mind before you head into this..especially since it is (possibly?) your first non consulting gig?

Imagine how much freedom you'll have to get key decisions out when your manager is drunk! Take it, 40% bump is a great bump, and if you like the role and career progress, I don't see why you shouldn't pursue

I was trying to figure out why A1 thought the manager would be out drunk.
I took a job once thinking the money would outweigh the demands of the work. It took about a year and the unexpected blowback of taking an approved 2-week vacation to realize that I was very wrong.
It’s a tough one. If you’re already not enjoying your current role and have had enough, I’d take the offer and make the move. You haven’t worked or gotten to know the M yet, so it’s a little presumptuous to judge him based on first impressions or hearsays. If it does turn out to be true, look for a new job and your next salary would be based on the new one. Or the M may actually be a nice person or turning around to be a nicer M after the onslaught of leavers under his/her leadership. It’s always good to start in a clean slate. No matter what, draw boundaries early on, learn lessons from your consulting days, and don’t end up in the same position that made you leave consulting. Good luck and congrats in nailing such a fantastic offer (comp wise)!
How long do you plan to stay in the new role? If it’s a year and you think you will move onto a bigger role from there, then take the $. But if you plan to stay there longer, it may not be a good idea to ruin your day for $..... how different is it from consulting!
Have a conversation. Tell the manager what you want and ask what they would expect
See what the competitors in consulting are giving you. I got a 40% increase from ex client in October then big 4 competitor matched that offer and I took it
