Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?
Hello, what is working in retail banking like at JPMorgan Chase ? Specially the branch manager role. I’m looking in the Columbus area. How is pay, culture, benefits, sales environment, meetings, etc. How easy is it to transition from retail banking to corporate. I hear the Polaris campus has great opportunities, I was thinking about getting my foot in the door through retail then transferring to corporate ?

Damn congratulations you have achieved what many dream of without even trying haha
Congrats OP - but I’m appalled by the pretentious elitism of my colleagues here who try to diminish your opportunity or the value external hires can bring to the firm. Do you really believe we are so special? Or that it takes some particular skills to make slides or be ‘yes men’ with our clients? Grow up kids.
I'm the last person who would diminish the value of external experience. I came in with nearly 10 years of experience, but I took a demotion to join as an ASC. It's more about equity in that we have ASCs who likely have similar external experience and 2+ years of Mck experience when compared with potential hires from other firms. I was told point blank by a recruiter years ago that laterals are rare and they wouldn't even think about promotions.
Wow that’s so weird and mildly upsetting that instead of promoting ASC from within we would bring ASC level from another firm to an EM setting. Congrats I guess, and good luck!
Congrats OP! Interview process shouldn’t be fundamentally different- my advice is to prep good stories for the PEI portion
Nothing against you OP or the other person commenting with a similar story, but if Mck starts hiring SCs from Deloitte as EMs rather than internal promotions there will be a riot. I took a demotion to join Mck, and a lateral would have been lucky. A promotion? Unheard of.
EM in HR is pure marketing.
It’s probably an internal role that is considered EM-equivalent but is nothing like it. There are a bunch. It’s not on the “consulting path”
Same for me. SC at D and recruiter reached out for EM at McK, had a first interview which was with AP that was behavioral
Can you share how the interview process was?
This. I was a manager for two years at B4 and elected to down level to associate at M because it was engrained in me how hard it is to succeed as a lateral EM. The Firm must be struggling.
I am a second year senior manager with 6 years of Deloitte exp (15 years in healthcare) and they are offering me EM. So needless to say..I am jealous too 🤨
Congrats OP! A sponsor of mine was a lateral EM move from industry (which he said they are doing more and more). He said it was really difficult to onboard, but he made it! And is now a partner so it’s doable
A recruiter just reached out to me as well for an EM role. Currently SC at D up for promo. What was your interview process like, OP?
I am about to start my first call with recruiter on the EM role. How did your process go? Any suggestions for me?
What level are you currently
Not particularly. I think it’s the tight market, firms seem to be trying a little too hard to recruit and retain people. A friend of mine at D also got approached by McK a couple of years ago but ended up at Facebook (also approached on LinkedIn)

Have to assume SM at D
OP said they are a senior consultant.
I am about to start my interview process for a EM role at McKinsey - having my first intro call with recruiter this Wed. Can I DM you to get your thoughts on preparing Case and PEI interviews? Thank you!
Hi D8,
How did the interview process go? Any tips? Happy to DM directly. Thanks!
Which practice are you currently in?
Really? Are you being contacted about a role in the public sector space? If so, take me with you!
Do you have an MBA by chance?
Keeps getting better 😂

Would appreciate you telling me the recruiter so I can hit them up. 😅
M1 at Accenture here also hit up for an EM interview. Conflicted because I hate consulting.
