They did it on the 27th which was 1 day before the end of the month. Had a few friends deal with this and that’s when they normally do it because they can cut benefits and everything before the new month starts. I’m sorry OP, but your attitude is inspiring! I hope you find a job that you are happy with.
Never, ever, EVER tell anyone you were fired in a job interview unless you're asked specifically if your departure was involuntary. And then make it sound like you were laid off. You don't have to lie, but you don't have to volunteer that information either.
Not a good fit. Was trying to get out before the axe came. Wasn’t fast enough
Sorry to hear that... no matter what getting fired still “stings”. But you will find something better. Hugs my friend
Op you will slingshot to a much much better position.
Wanted to get drunk last night but decided to go for a walk instead
I just checked my email and I already have an interview for an industry job. Now do I tell them I was canned yesterday or say I’m still employed?
Do us a favor and tell us the company so we know to never work at a place that give no severance after being laid off
I got fired last year as well. Lmk how/ if I can help. Not gonna assume too much about ur situation, but can talk to ya if needed
Don't sweat it. It means nothing at the end of the day anyway. It's Capitalism, jobs are everywhere.
Ah OP, I got laid off today too (there’s a difference between getting fired and laid off apparently). Cheers, we’ll get through this.
Still employed.
Thanks. Appreciate the support. Issue was, I wasn’t happy there and I knew it was impacting my work / people’s perception of me. Started the search in earnest a few months ago but alas I wasn’t quick enough
I got severance. ~8 weeks.
Op be happy they got to you first. You now dont have to repay any signing bonuses You get severance You get unemployment The last two alone are probably 10-15k total. And that is without the pto payout or last paycheck
If you need a referral or just need to talk, holla at this fish. Stay strong. Eyfish2017@gmail.com
Good news. Moving to a final round interview with industry next week
95% of people dont get fired. They are told it's not a good fit / up or out and are given a package. If you fire someone you lose a possible customer in the future
WHICH FIRM?
OP, you will be awright. The feeling is a b*tch though
Say you are still employed. OP it's happened to be me before and oddly enough - it was one of the best things that happened to me.
