Processing time for cpa license in MA?
Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

I’m sorry to hear it. All the advice on this thread is good. Here’s what got me from crashing out of a job and back to the c-suite (1) continue to invest in yourself - exercise, personal appearance, daily routine, healthy eating, mental health (2) reconnect with your not-so-strong connections who are doing interesting things and working in interesting places - you want stimulation not commiseration from other people (3) take freelance or volunteer gigs that round out your experience or make yourself more saleable rather than taking a more lucrative gig that depositions you (4) use some free time to read and learn - don’t get angry on political twitter, get smart on books and talks (5) if you can’t get to sleep, remember one good thing that happened to you today (6) your kids might not know that you’ve been fired and they won’t judge you on it - every extra minute of attention and love you pour in to them now will be repaid ten-fold. Good luck.
Breathe. Your new full time job is getting another job. Keep yourself busy. And don’t let the negative voice in your head get the best of you. Best wishes and post back when you land.
Also take the unemployment insurance ASAP. No shame; it’s rightfully your money.
Keep looking up, lots of jobs open.
How often do you contact the same recruiters? I can’t tell if I’m emailing too much or not enough.
Great advice. It’s advice we can all use, regardless of the circumstance we are facing at this time.
Update your resume/portfolio and start reaching out to everyone you know who might be able to help you find something. Apply for unemployment as quickly as possible to get something coming in and start looking for freelance to hold you over until you find something permanent.
And if you don't mind sharing, which office?
Unemployment office ASAP. Start online to get things in order. Be aggressive about applying. Stay on a schedule for applying 3X a week minimum. Update LinkedIn info.
Be positive. Enjoy time with kids and family. Mid level to junior positions are going to be more plentiful.
Buckle down and try not to waste money. This is a great time to reflect on life and yourself.
I know this sounds cliche, “when one door closes another door opens”, but it is true. Be open to the new possibilities. And take time for yourself - to reflect on those things that truly give you joy.
Freelance, you’ll be much happier.
Take a trip to Mexico.
Be honest with the world about it. It happens to everyone (or a lot of people). The more people you let know of your available status, the better the chance of getting a job. Take it from me—when I got laid off years ago, I was ashamed and hid it, and I think it slowed me finding a new job. And it’s true what people here have said — it opens up new doors. I ended in a better agency than the one I was fired from. Good luck.
Got laid off this year, too. Literally applied to 100 jobs. If you’re decent at you what you do, you should be able to land something eventually (took me almost 4 months). Def connect with recruiters from agencies you admire, they might post openings. Apply to everything on Glassdoor/LinkedIn. You might feel defeated at times, but be assured things WILL work out!
Also work your network. Your previous colleagues can prob help if you don’t seem desperate.
Me too, trying to figure out the freelance thing.
I started freelancing immediately after I got laid off. I reached out to CDs, creatives, resource people I used to work with and let them know I was available.
Happens to the best of us. Keep your head up, reflect on the time, but don’t stew on what if’s and whys and reach out to people you respect and like for recommendations on freelance, next steps, and life.
Sorry to hear that. Was this in NY?
Budget heavily!
What do you do, WT? Pretty sure my agency is hiring
