Is 150k base salary enough to live comfortably in Manhattan. Assume no extravagant spending but decent apartment, eat out 2-3 times per week, vacation a couple times per year etc and regular savings rate? Hard to get a biweekly number based on all the types of taxes etc

What is a good conversation value for IHG / holiday inn points ? Is “13k points for $100 room rate “ a good deal ?

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)

Can a law firm in CA rescind an offer if background check reveals an omitted employment history? Worked at a firm for 2-3 months back in 2019 that wasn’t a good fit. Flaming hot take incoming. I went to school in Ohio. Lived in cincy a few years after graduation. Met amazing people. Saw attractive girls and good looking guys all the time. I’ve sense moved out east and have been severely underwhelmed by the quality of people I’ve encountered in my year here. And I’m very social - I interact with people a lot when I’m out and about. And yet all over social media there are jokes about how Ohio is the worst place to possibly live. I don’t get it

Are there any books or classes about convincing people that have irrational arguments? Trying to figure out how to frame conversations that lead to my conclusions that aren't based in logic and fact.
