Wow, that is impressive. The first thing I would do is make the most of your current position and design a new role for yourself (or at least a new title.) That could help you break out of EA in future jobs. Write up a job description for what you’re actually doing now or where you’d like to be. Look at jobs you’re interested in online and see if there’s a title that fits what you’re doing now. (Chief of staff, operations director, something relevant but also will help you transition to new roles.) then make your case. Identify a need and fill it. Also think about the roles you envisioned when you got your degrees.
Why are you not applying for positions commensurate with your education?
The other popular responses: “overqualified” or “you’re not a good fit” for this role. It wasn’t until I was invited to interview with a company that told me I was a “good fit for the role” that I discovered it entailed supporting an executive that was the same ethnicity as I was—that I realized what “the right fit” meant.
Can you share more context?
What industry are you in? What is your field of interest? What types of roles are you applying for? How are you framing yourself?
And then consider, what kind of work you do currently? How can you craft narrative in your day to day work to fit the work you want to do?
