USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

Ew. I don't care what role or gender. Run.
Keeping out names. Had one manager ask how I could possibly have a senior position at my current job (even though I've had the title for over 2 years). Another made it sound like I wouldn't be able to handle it because he "knows how things are run at my current agency" and both told me that "a mid-level at Code is a senior everywhere else". Personally, I don't think they would talk to me like that if I wasn't a woman. I also felt like they were just trying to low ball me and not hire me at my experience level or salary.
Yeah I interviewed with a mid level designer there when I was junior/mid. As I was walking her through my designs, she would say things like "Why would anybody ever do something as bad as this?" or "that makes absolutely no sense." That's the only time I've ever experienced anyone so rude.
Whatttt wow. ^
Interviewed there about 2 years ago. The HR person looked at me deadpan and said, 'we're the Google of advertising.' I laughed, but to my surprise, the person was serious.
I would love to hear details on this.
Weird, I wonder if that's some sort of new HR trick. Completely piss off your new hires so only the most downtrodden will work for you on the cheap.
That place is toxic. Avoid it at all costs.
I love interviews like that - they make the process for me so simple - stay away from those horrible people
Maybe they do it to see how you'll defend your work or push back on negative feedback to see how thick skinned or quick thinking you are? Doesn't make it ok but a theory.
I know exactly who interviewed you by reading this as I've worked with said person before. They are a great person honestly but the shtick gets old fast. C&T does good work but not great enough to warrant so much 'tude.
I almost interview there, glad I didn't!
Also, it's ironic because said person comes from a background full of garbage agencies doing mediocre work. I know firsthand because we shared a lot of crappy projects. It's not like they're rooted in a background full of product development or A-List pure play digital shops. Trust me, you've dodged a bullet.
I just don't get where the ego is coming from. I can't name one project they've done, where as I know work that Huge has spearheaded. They extended me an offer for a mid-level UX position funny enough - declining.
Fwiw, I interviewed there, was offered a position, and reached out to my network to ask about the agency. I talked to a lot of people who had worked there, 15+. The vast majority said "hell no, stay away from there, it's awful". I'd say you dodged a bullet.
What is it like to work at C&T? Is there that much attitude day to day?
