As a consultant or any working professional, every opportunity you meet someone, manage someone, lead someone etc, is a ministry opportunity. It’s by our actions that we have impact. Something to keep in mind in any profession. Management can be such a noble profession if done right (check out Clay Christensen, how to measure your life).

I’m considering the priesthood. Been working for almost four years, made good money but I feel as though my heart is elsewhere
prayer is big for me here in terms of discerning what is right for myself and ultimately for yourself. Good people are needed in both laymen work and non laymen work so no worries there.
I do have a friend who recently gave up his entire life as a software developer to become a priest, and this was after a decade of working. Pretty inspirational to anyone thinking about it

I’m quitting my job next week. Partially to take a break. I’m part of my treasury team and have been preaching recently. I’ll be happy to have more flexibility to do those things. I cant see myself
I quit vocational ministry to pursue consulting.

Toxic work environment and being underpaid is exhausting
I wrestled between a full time ministry position (also working towards an Mdiv) and my consulting offer.
What’s your real question?
Many times and still do to this date; each time the counsel I received from other Christians is that it’s okay to pursue a corporate life. Pray about it & god will open up the right doors.
Every day. Figured I’ll need the consulting skills to eventually do ministry at a high level. In the meantime I want to get my masters in divinity.
