Dear all,
My friend is trying to get into her 1st full-time job. Previously she worked as a UI UX designer for multiple clients (freelance). But she couldn't manage to get an interview call. She is an excellent UI UX designer and an illustrator. If anyone has any options, kindly comment below, I will share her resume. She is a btech graduate with 2 year experience in ui ux designing/illustration field.

Apparently research says that men on average will believe they are qualified for a job if they meet 60% of the criteria, while women tend to not apply unless they meet closer to 90-100%.
Just leaving that right here...
Unfortunately, several of my previous bosses.
Yes. Job descriptions are wish lists. In the same way there’s no such thing as a perfect job, there’s no such thing as a candidate who matches ALL needs
Demonstrated eagerness, willingness to learn, and how my existing skills could let me grow into the position with a powerful manager. Not all managers are good or patient. I admit I was very fortunate. But it set me up for success earlier in my career than others
Males do it all the time. Females wait to be qualified.
What is Ketchum IDea?
Definitely. It's a list of things employers want, but you don't need to check every box. There are things they also are looking for that isn't even listed. If you think you are right for the job, then get in there and give it what you GOT. I landed my first agency job and have been with that same agency 5 years ago. When I got hired, I didn't fulfill half of what they said I "needed." But here we are 5 years later and a complete different path than when I started. I learned, I evolved, I kept pushing myself to do the best. And continue to do so. And here I sit happily in the seat I helped build for myself in this place I enjoy.
Ha! I'm still dumbfounded that they handed me a college degree...

Always. When you fell u do your job at your level well enough for a year, it’s time to move up and challenge yourself. Only way to grow
What others above had said about it being a wishlist vs. a must have. Most recently, I applied and landed the job that was asking for 8+ years when I barely scratched 6. It’s about transferable experience and showcasing what you’re capable of doing/have done. A smart manager will see when you have the drive and ability - whether you have the “years” or not.
I do agree it’s harder to get the recruiter to notice you from the get go tho if you don’t have the years on paper - which is why I always recommend having someone on the inside that can vouch for you or ask the hiring manager to coffee or an informational interview first
Every time.
Yep
Thanks everyone!
