I have joined Infosys 2 weeks back. They have mapped me to a certain project but everyday I am getting calls for the skill sets that don't match to my current skill set. They are telling me to attend client interview and giving me just 1 week of time to prepare for a totally new technology.

McKinsey & Company Does level and/or office matter for referrals at McKinsey & Company? A friend is willing to refer at the Associate level in my target office though I did not get any traction w/ the referral last year. I'm a Veteran so I also recognize there may be a resume translation issue despite the prior version getting me interviews with BCG and Bain. I have updated the resume since - though still wondering if there's anything else I can do to strengthen my case. Thank you in advance for any advice.

It’s a pretty common move, from S& at least.... can’t speak for the other T2s.
There’s this misconception that referrals help... they don’t unless it’s from someone extremely senior

What level are you?
Bain just reached out to me too but not interested. It really depends on the situation. I have it good here... might consider if BCG due to their culture
Ok... cool. Just based on what I directly hear from friends. You're good to take your own opinion. This is my basis and sticking to it.
How do you go about getting a referral? Do you cold network with consultants or recruiters?
