Has anyone left employment at their firm prior to passing all four parts of the CPA exam, and had to reimburse the firm for the cost of the Becker study materials?

Lol they do not make you repay it, yes it’s in the contract you sign when you request for CPE material but they do not hold you to it. At least not on the west coast

like

I left GT before passing and they never acknowledged it

like

Are you asking if other firms do that or just GT? Because GT does and also if you haven’t passed within 18months unless you ask for extension.

I do believe it’s part of the policy, I was at 18months when I had 1 exam left and had to request an extension. But I’ve also seen instances when associates have not been requested to pay back.

like

I left Cohnreznick and I had to reimburse them. They deducted it from my final paycheck

This is what happened to me. They withheld my last paycheck. I don’t think we are 100% squared away but I don’t feel like calling to get a $50 paycheck or write a check for $50. I’m not real sure on what side the difference is located.

like

Kpmg doesn’t mention anything about Cpa study materials/Cpa exam. At least my contract didn’t

I'm probably leaving the practice of law in Q12023

I am the junior attorney at a small PI firm (5 lawyers). I love my job and my firm, the partners, and my colleagues.

I have another opportunity that is important to me, so I'm planning to step away.

I have maybe 10-15 lit cases that I'm "responsible" for. Some of them are tar babies that I know the partners and my colleagues would hate taking over, but I don't think I'm willing to wait for resolution on them either. Thoughts?

Hi, weird question for this forum, so I apologize. I’m trying to be creative here and use the tv stand that I have. The issue is that it has an open back so you can see all my tv wires. I can’t hide the wires because my building won’t let me open the wall. My idea was to slip a tile sheet that is wall behind the tv stand as a back, but I need the tile cut to the specific heigh and width of the tv stand. Does anyone know where I can take this tile sheet to get cut to the specific measurements?

Hello Folks!

During work from office days, a representative from third party vendor organization used to visit the Gurgaon office during the Investment Proof Declaration days to help folks with "rent agreements, PAN number and rent slips" (ahem!! ahem!! IYKYK) and we were able to claim tax deductions.

Is it still happening there? Also, does anyone have a contact for them?
