Bain & Company Is there a cool down at Bain even if you don’t make it past the resume screen? Applied a couple months ago on a whim (and a referral from a friend) having no experience with anything business/consulting related as a lateral (only had experience in research prior). Since then have had 2 months at a t2 firm plus some biz dev for a startup. I’m aiming to reapply at 6 months. For context graduated from a t10 school and thought I wanted to go to med school for a little bit lol. Bain & Company

It's a great way to show people you couldn't pass the CPA
All of the disadvantages none of the advantages
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Not sure why people would want to go for CMA instead of CPA unless they don’t have the education credits or can’t/don’t want to take the CPA exam.
I have my CPA, but work in industry. It has helped with salary, and feels like it is not heavily utilized. But in studying for the CMA, it is helping excel my knowledge in general business acumen. (Budgeting/forecasting, business management decisions, etc) Great for FP&A work as well. I have enjoyed studying for it thus far.
No
Probably depends on where you work and what your career goals are. In public accounting, CMA will do nothing for you. In private, it's probably better than nothing, but I feel like CPA will always hold more weight.
Agree with everyone here! You could get both.
