Have offers from Deloitte and Accenture for a business technology/CDP analyst out of undergrad. Could you guys give me your input on firm culture? The compensation is very similar.

Depends what you want: If you want to learn, and work with very smart, driven people - Deloitte.

You want more WLB - Accenture.

like

Come to Deloitte. WLB when you’re 22 is overrated. You’ll learn more and have better exit ops at this firm.

What’s the comp?

like

Per the question about culture, can’t speak about Deloitte, but I like how we at Accenture are super focused on innovation from a human perspective... how we encourage people to use their own strengths to continue to learn and innovate vs. just cookie cutter. It just feels like a strong community of Accenture analysts and the people here are smart as hell, get a super strong learning experience their whole career, people want you to succeed and you are respected for being yourself here. Just like anywhere, it’s not perfect and is based on business conditions, but the culture helps make it a place I want to build my foundation. Hope that helps and good luck in your decision!

DM me please.

Congrats on your offers.

Are you in the US? Over here in Europe I’d say that Accenture on the dl has better work life balance but my US colleagues seem to work pretty hard. I’m at ACN strat though so might be different for consulting.

like

80k. Big drawback is Deloitte is for Business Technology Analyst while Accenture is CDP

like

Ot a big drawback. F... title!
The work is important, and there you will be better off at Deloitte!

like

Like others have said, both are fine choices. If you're afraid of being pigeonholed to tech consulting at D and you're sure that the Accenture role will have the type of work you want, I'd see no reason to take the risk with D.

On the BTA point though, I haven't seen any evidence of them being treated any differently from BAs. Analysts are analysts and the work you end up doing will be determined more by proactive networking than your title.

like

I had the same options, first of all work will be similar at both and both will depend on your networking skills since they’re both 250K or more employees. Go with the people/vibe you like more, I liked the people at D. Additionally, Deloitte doesn’t regional staff so you have more opportunities to get on projects across the nation whereas Accenture is extremely focused on regional staffing. In terms of the D and the not being a BA, I honestly thought as a BTA we would be more looked down upon and or treated like tier 2 analysts but so far no body cares and also all the BAs are super nice and treat you just like a normal peer. — Back the original point go with where you like the vibe and the people the most

We do say we do “regional staffing” but we don’t lol. You’ll still be staffed across the country if needed.

My friend works as a BTA and I am at Accenture. Comparing situations, easier to find projects at Deloitte, but occasionally there is opportunity to do non-tech focused consulting (if that matters to you) at Accenture. You’ll probably have more difficulty getting on projects at Accenture due to massive number of analysts, but on flip side a little more time to enjoy the bench. You’ll do similar work, ppl are chill at both companies. ACN culture is dependent on office - I’ve heard good things about SF / Chicago but know that other offices have lackluster culture. If you’re not comfortable networking considerably to get on a role (at Accenture), id choose Deloitte. But if you want more time to chill (at analyst level) -> ACN

*please

My .02 would be: if you’re keen on helping clients become digital, Accenture is the place to go. If you’re not interested in tech overall then likely D would be the better choice.

Overheard from prior Accenture manager that Accenture is not a good place to be rn. Since they’re public, investors are expecting a lot. This means rip WLB.

Yeah. Accenture on the dl actually has pretty good wlb. In Strat we get paid less than MBB (obviously) but honestly I’m happy where I am as I’m able to balance a lot of other stuff and I still have more money than I really need.

I'm new to EY and consulting in general. Does anyone know what is the average salary hike for promotion from Senior to Manager and for Seniors in non-promotion year?

Hey, I received a verbal offer from EY for a role as manager, which was quite a low ball offer. I had received another offer from a different firm and I informed EY HR about it. I was told yesterday that they have an updated offer for me, scheduled the call twice with me but didn't actually call and told me she got occupied in other meetings. I have not got a response from her yet on the mails, should I contact the hiring partner directly? other firm is asking me to update as well.
