I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

With a new job comes the pressure to look good on a video call though. Break out that bra.
Yes. Went client side and the transition has it’s pros and cons. The company mailed over a laptop, and they’ve been good about onboarding virtually and digitally signing paperwork. It’s hard to learn the ins and outs of the company and get a true feel for the culture. Not being immersed makes it harder for me to learn and retain so much new information, but overall the teams have been understanding and empathetic. They want to help and have been good about scheduling time to video chat.
Exactly the same here, new team have been fantastic with remote onboarding but eventually going into an office together will feel like starting all over again.
Yes! I started from home (went into the office for 20 minutes to sign paperwork and get equipment). It honestly hasn’t been bad at all! Everybody seems to be understanding if any challenges arise. My problems are fairly normal- VPN connection problems mostly. I was surprised by how streamlined my new job has WFH though.
Good luck!
Yes. Debating whether I should take it since it's agency side. I really want to though :/
I'm on one of the marketing teams.
Great people and the job is pretty laid back. Only problem is actual growth, and things here are very corporate. It's been hard to adjust.
Tbh, I'd look to stay if there was actual opportunities for me to grow here, but hiring at target is weird. They don't promote internally, so you have to find a job in a different department once you're ready for a new opportunity, and that change could take years. I wish I'd have known about this before accepting the offer. It's hard not to feel disappointed and a bit hopeless at times.
I was almost offered a position before WFH began, but honestly I’m glad I wasn’t. After a few weeks the company did layoffs and laid off some of my superiors. I believe if I was offered a position right before WFH, I may have been laid off quickly. Luckily, I’m an intern who is paid less than full time employees and my internship has been extended several times throughout the quarantine
I accepted a new position right before quarantine and have been on boarded remotely. So far so good! it’s hard not being in the office and meeting everyone and you have to have more self restrain and control for staying focused but not many challenges from the usual
I accepted a position last week and my laptop should arrive by Friday. First day is on Monday and I’ll be WFH until it’s safe to come back into the office. I’ll have to move to a new state when things get better but luckily they said they’ll be flexible with that.
Started a new job a week ago. They mailed the computer pretty fast and onboarding was very easy. In fact, I was cooking during all the annoying onboarding meetings. The only challenge was with getting accustomed to work with everyone on the team. Also concepting remotely seems fine but getting feedback from CDs for some reason is a challenge. Also the workload is crazy and some projects slipped through the cracks. But otherwise I actually LOVE working remote. LOVE IT.
Working with some that started during the quarantine. It is not going well. Skipping meetings and reading/doing only what is convenient.
