Obviously depends on what motivates you. But when I’m in a rut like that it helps to shorten my list because the long list seems overwhelming. So I pick what is about 8 hours of billable work from my pending assignments (keeping imminent deadlines in mind of course) and put them on a separate little check list on my desk. If I get through like 75% of them then I get myself a little treat lol. The 75% is keeping in mind that I will probably be dealing with emails or whatever that ends up filling the rest of the time.
My boss does this and recommended it to me. I only put 6-7 hours of work on it each day though. Then it feels good to check off those things and spend the rest of the time billing .2 for responding to emails or random tasks.
Here to say you’re not alone!
My experience is to just start. Commit to working through your to-do list for the day. Do this for a few days and it can help you get back in the groove (I say as I am avoiding my to-do list by looking at this website).
Feel your pain!
