Pupper didn't like the wind

Hi
Anyone facing this issue?

How long is current hiring freeze for?
I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

step away and tack a breather. come back and write down all the things that need to be down. prioritize and work on it one at a time. if something can wait tomorrow or even a bit later, let it. that way you wont feel like there is so much all at once.
done* (was typing too fast!)
I'm the post-it queen. I write everything down so that it doesn't clog my brain trying to remember it all.
Prioritizing is critical, but something else I do that helps is bracketing my tasks. So if I have multiple orders to place, for example, I block time to just get those done, and then I will move onto the next bracket task (booking travel, invoicing, or whatever). It makes me more efficient than having to swivel between different types of tasks and lose momentum (although, as we know, that can't always be avoided).
Close the laptop and take a walk around the block. Look at the sky, hear the birds. No one will die for 15-20 min. Then come back to it. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Sometimes it fees impossible to step away for one second when you’re caught in the vortex of needs and requests, but give yourself some pause to reset and things will look better.
First, if you haven't done so already, apologize to your coworker. It could lead to a good vent session.
Take breaks. Get up and walk away from your desk during those breaks. If you need to use the restroom or get a coffee refill, walk to the furthest one in your office. That walk will help burn off stress, tension, and anxiety.
If you have your work email on your phone, set it to mute notifications after 5pm or whatever hour you end your work day. And also mute notifications over the weekend and holidays.
Write out your to do list at the end of everyday. Or better yet, write a "done" list. Writing down what you've completed during the day will help you feel accomplished.
Take a morning to knock out the little tasks. Schedule time for the larger tasks. If it looks like a task or project is going to take a lot of time, break it up into chunks.
If you don't already, look into using task management apps like Microsoft Planner. It comes with most Microsoft business licenses. It helps track tasks and their deadlines. It also set priorities and keep track of what tasks have been completed and how many are left. You can even assign tasks to folks.
Block out the first and/or last hours to concentrate on work. Outlook has a tool that you can activate that will analyze your calendar and automatically block "Focus" time on your celander. This has been a wonderful tool for me and my counterparts.
Practice self care. Take yourself out to dinner or lunch at your favorite restaurant. Go to the spa, get your nails done, or go to the movies or museum. Do anything that you love doing.
Most of all go easy on yourself. Feeling stressed and overwhelmed with work can lead to guilt and more stress. It's okay to feel this way but do not let it drag you down. Do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Do not be afraid to ask a peer for a vent session. Sometimes the simple act of venting is what you need to relieve that stress. We all have bad days. Just make sure that it doesn't impact your working relationships, your work, or your mental health.

I take a moment and walk away. It feels counterproductive knowing the list of what I have to do, but it gives me perspective. If I'm in the office and it's nice out, I take a walk. If it's not, we have a wellness room and I go in there, lock the door, turn the light down low and either hang out in the reclining chair or pull put a yoga mat and do some stretching. If I'm at home, I take my dog for a walk. Sometimes, I will take a long, hot shower. While I'm clearing my head, I tell myself to just do one thing at a time. Don't think about everything as a whole. Just focus on the one task. It won't seem so bad.
Then I stress out at the end of they day and work too late. I'm not perfect. ☺️
