There’s so much discussion around people seeking new jobs and interview processes, so I thought it would be great to share some knowledge for everyone on the job hunt right now. I’d love to know: What’s your number 1 interview tip?
I’ll go first - do your research. Learn about the company you’re interviewing with so it’s clear you care about the opportunity.
Has anyone successfully pivoted from a leadership role to an individual contributor role? I’ve been managing in house creative teams for 10 years. Lots of managing, not much design. I had been freelancing as a creative outlet but my new role is too demanding for me to continue. At my new job there is very little process so I feel more like a project manager than a creative director. I have been applying to senior designer or art director roles but have not had much success. Any advice?
I got a referral and my application status in the portal is showing “ under consideration” since the day I applied. Can someone guide me on the next steps please? When can I expect an interview?
AlixPartners - I had my last interview with an MD on Thursday, by when should I expect to hear back from HR?

My current company's last working day is 17th July, so Amazon has given joining date as 18th July.
Paralelly my interview with Google is going on.
Please read comment for the rest.

What is the difference between a group product manager vs a senior product manager? I have 3 years of Product management experience and I’m interviewing for my second pm role at a company where I would be reporting to the group pm. Looking at the product area and the job requirements I am qualified and will have seniority over a first time pm. I’m not sure if they have associate pm but either way would it be fair for me to ask for a senior pm title?
Any thoughts on bearingpoint? Did anyone have an interview with then recently? They're starting their office in India soon. BearingPoint
After 10+ years of consulting and commercial experience I’m looking to make the leap over to Government work. Specifically targeting the Federal Reserve, is there anything I should know when applying to this organization? Like, do I need a Government resume to apply?

I hate a person I work with. They are mean and passive aggressive to me. I took 2 months of STD to get away from this person & get my head straight. Came back about a month ago & started a new engagement that didn't include this person. I was SO happy. It was short lived. This person is now a part of the engagement. I got a job offer today making $12k less plus it is for only a Sr consultant. I'm going to accept to get away from this person. I think my mental health is priceless. Thoughts?
Currently at 110k TC with 2 yoe and want to get to 200k in 5 years. I know the jump from 100-200 can take a while and I’m looking for some advice or expertise on how to get there

Just watched the end of Last Week with John Oliver. He looked at what critical race theory actually is and how politicians are screwing up education in its name. It was eye opening. I have a better understanding of so much.
Noob here. Can someone explain investing to me like I'm a dummy? I just want to make sure I have the basics down. Like for instance, I brought 2 shares in something that just skyrocketed but am wondering if I should buy more at the current price it's at or if I should have just brought a shit load of the stock in the first place. And do people usually keep buying the same stock over time or do you just buy a whole bunch of the same stock at once? Help lol

Starting as fdd senior in a month ( coming from audit). What’s the best way to prep for day 1 on the job? Thanks!
Has anyone gone back from FDD to audit due to unpredictability in FDD? Or is that a bad decision overall?
What is the dynamics/roles in FDD for Senior/Manager/SM/Partner?
Rotating in as Senior and expect to be doing lots of prep work from what I hear.
Has anyone landed a job at A&M without their CPA? I have 1 section left but 2 years of FDD experience and 2 years of audit experience. Have a recruiter from A&M massaging me and not sure if I should push off speaking with them until I'm licensed.
My friend who’s working at PwC FDD reached out to a recruiter and he has been told that PwC only consider candidates who have FDD experience. I’m so upset today because of this. I work at EY FSO assurance and just got early promoted. I wanted to switch the job right after the promotion but it seems lol there’s no hope in PwC and EY now (can’t internal transfer within EY cuz they need me to do one more busy season). Can anyone give me some advice about to switch from assurance to FDD please!
Do you need an accounting degree to work in transaction services or is finance ok? Asking for a friend.
Doing SaT rotation this summer. What are the expectations to get the full time transfer? I’m also an idiot, so a little nervous lol.
I think the utilization metric is so flawed, yet it seems to be the number 1metric people rely to judge fdd staff. It heavily penalizes efficiency (if it takes everyone 5 hours to complete something what motivation do I have to be faster only to need to fill any saved hours with more work). Can you share any ideas on how to improve fdd metrics or perhaps share what your company does that makes performance great again.
Does Tax get paid more than Accounting for similar roles? Think M&A tax vs FDD. I hear general tax > audit so wondering if that trend exists in transactions as well.
How long does the interview process usually take? I had an initial call with a recruiter about 3 weeks ago and then another call with a Manager to go over my resume the following week. After that it’s been silent. I feel like someone would have followed up by now.
I’ve seen more roles for in-house diligence at MM/LMM PE funds lately. Anyone thought through the pro/cons of a role like that vs. FDD?
For those that switched to FDD from Audit, did LI recruiters change the the types of jobs they recommended to you? More than just IA, or financial reporting?
