I am from a tier 1 college and yet able to land only a couple of interviews and they keep me on stand by(2 companies so far). They are prefering folks with experience even for APM positions. I’d like to say “I ran an experiment”. But the truth is simply that I’m an alcoholic (or just an addict) by definition; I’m the type to have periodic mid/long-term bursts of heavy drinking. I most recently lost almost everything to it and my employer, if they did notice, had no concerns. Now I’m switching jobs and had to take a drug screen… I could have passed with flying colors and a 1.3BAC, no one would say a thing. It’s terrifying.
