tbh it's more behind the scenes and non-clinical meaning you aren't dealing w/ bodily fluids, mostly admin work which could be registration, check-in/out, scheduling appts., emails, faxes, things of that nature, been doing it for about 6 yrs and i love it. and for the medical records part, totally diff thing, if a pt calla about that i would just transfer to them directly or have them fill out a release form to scan in their chart. idk what city you're in but in boston, most hospitals use epic which you will get trained on, it seems scary at first but it's rlly the same thing over and over w/ a lottt of clicking but super easy once you get used to it, and they train you based on the dept. you'll be working in. best of luck to ya :D
I wouldn't recommend any Medical Records jobs unless you like Coding and doing things to protect patient privacy. Many companies aren't desperate to train on any medical coding opportunities for newbies!
I'm going to do some more research on coding. It may be something I'm interested in. Thanks!
Okay, that is very helpful. I have social anxiety so that is my main reason for being nervous about if the job will work for me.

I have social anxiety as well and I have a hard time deciding if a particular jobs is a good fit for me. I think a medical records specialist could be a great fit if you don’t want to be quite as hands-on with patients.
