Hello, I’m struggling in my current job. The stress is affecting my mental and physical health. I moved from Accounting into Operations for career growth, and my new boss hasn’t been supportive with me. After only 3 months, I was already threatened with termination due to my performance despite my supposed learning curve dealing with a new job from a different field. I’ve been applying for Staff Accountant roles since May 20206 with no results, and it’s making me feel really down and depressed.

I believe this is what corporate America is now. Sorry you are struggling!

Sorry to hear but instead of getting depressed, try to figure out the root cause leading to this experience. Perhaps you may be able to fix by communicating effectively and openly with your manager or other trusted advisors in your group or network. I agree with the feedback from AP lead above as this market is not very forgiving and you have to be capable enough to solve your struggles and issues using resources and tools available at your disposal. Good luck to you and may you find peace soon and able to solve all issues

Happened to me as well. Then once you don’t have a job it’s super hard to get another job. You have to take care of yourself first. Whatever that looks like you need to take care of you

I agree with trying to get any kind of feedback from management on what are some things you can improve on. Anyone should know it takes three months at least to feel somewhat confortable in a new role. The job market is unfortunately really tough right now. I’ve been applying since November 2024 to get out of my current company. Ended up having to take a break from applying for a few months for my mental health. I wish you the best of luck.

Please look after your well being I didn't and I developed high blood pressure and a year later follow with a TIA. Stubborn over here didn't seek out a doc due to my healthcare career. We all know about HIPPA but believe what u will. Your level of senior management will be found out and used for the company benefit not yours!!!!

The only feedback I get is pretty much I have figured out my job based on the job description. This is role is full of ambiguity and it gives me anxiety all the time.
