Hi Lilly, I don't think this was shared where you had hoped. This site is anonymous and employers may be here, but likely more to spy on their feedback than to hunt for new employees.
I would suggest revising your interest letter though. Never lead with having kids. You may see this as a benefit but in general employers see this as a potential staffing issue. They cannot ask you, so don't offer it. You can simply say that you have extensive background in caring for children from birth to (whatever age you do have experience with). You do have experience, how that experience is obtained is varied and motherhood shouldn't be named. If you were a recent graduate citing grades is acceptable, but reword to cite your overall GPA or your general grade average being an 'A'. I'd also cite any clinical experience working with pediatrics or mixed aged populations.
Good luck in your job search and remember you have a lot to offer, the world needs nurses, so be confident in your letters and confident in your interviews. Pleading isn't necessary and it's not the foot you want to start a career on. You already did all the work and proved yourself worthy of the liscence you hold, you don't have to prove to everyone around you that you are worthy. You are already one of the few who survived the schooling so celebrate that, embrace it, and go get the job! :-)
I agree, this probably wasn’t your intended audience. That being said- this doesn’t separate you from any “good mom” applicant type. I’d explore explaining why you were interested in pediatric nursing and why you specifically want to work for that hospital/unit.
