Hey all,

I’m a fairly young consultant in London with IBD internship experience. My bank didn’t give any real return offers and I needed to start work due to personal reasons.

I don’t have the same level has drive here and am realising my passion for banking even further. Is it possible to break in in this case (especially considering a better market than last year), and if so, how should I approach this? Any help would be highly appreciated!

Network with the people from your internship to have them help you make connections at other banks. Keep in friendly contact with everyone you network with along the way as you keep having them refer you to more people and eventually one of the banks will be hiring and you can have them help you with a referral so that you get an interview. The rest is up to you from there

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.
