2 weeks? Also horrible.

Deloitte is good if you are in Core. USDC only gets 2 weeks.

Deloitte but I would argue this is project/leadership based and you need to set your own boundaries

Completely agree regardless of the firm

Slalom’s pretty solid for parents. 8 weeks parental leave, no unwanted travel, and 40-45 hour work week.

I had a bad experience at Slalom but it was likely due to the specific market where I worked (it is somewhat of a franchise type of operating model), I think the company as a whole is probably okay for those with families.

If you want to stay in consulting you will almost always have tradeoffs. The WLB in many industry-side positions will be much better.

Work at a bank 👍

They are not specifically parent friendly, but generally have a chill culture

ZS gives 10 weeks of paternity leave. There are part time options if you want. And most Principals have family and kids (and not divorced!) - which is a long term sustainability market for me.

The biggest struggle is an individual has to be ok with setting some boundaries and take advantage of these.

Protiviti. 10 weeks paternity and my MDs have always understood when I needed a flexible schedule.

McKinsey has been great. Took pat leave two weeks after I onboarded. Also they have optional ramp up programs where you ease back into work.

Honestly, I think most of the big consulting firms have amazing paternity leave policies and are actually supportive of taking the time. I’ve been promoted twice in years that I’ve taken paternity leave and have extended leave using PTO as well with nothing but support at both PwC and KPMG. Relative to my friends in banking / industry, it’s great.

Don’t get my wrong. Im still a Big 4 hater but the two firms I’ve worked at have been great about paternity leave

Agree with you M3. I think all of the B4 have good policies in place now. I can only speak to PwC, but I never had any pushback about taking leave and I fully encourage my staff to take it.

Can we show unequal rent split up between husband & wife for HRA?
Let's say we pay 20k in rent. I want to show that I pay 15k and wife can show 5k. Is this sort of break up possible without explicitly mentioning it in the rent agreement?

How does everyone bill for family law matters? Do you always bill hourly or is there some flat fee, monthly or quarterly fee structure that could work, even in contested matters? I have cases that the clients end up spending $20-$40,000 on a contested divorce and this is really out of their budget. I feel that if my firm could charge a flat fee of $10-$15,000, it would still be beneficial from a client predictability and volume standpoint and would generate more referrals.

It looks like PWC has the “worst” paternity leave policy out of all the big 4 with only 8 weeks off then another 4 weeks at 24hrs per week. Anyone think this might change soon? EY and Deloitte give 16 weeks and KPMG gives 12 weeks.

My office location is in Marathahalli and offices are starting from Jan. I am shifting from Mumbai to Bangalore due to work demand. I will be moving with family. What would be the ideal location for me to search flat. I prefer gated community with amenities inside as I have small kid and can take her in the park than going out. How would the rent be? One of my friend has a flat in Ecity gated society with 25k rent. Where can I search for similar society within commutable distance. This is 20+km

Husband is a multi sport coach and gone a lot in season, I work in corp banking. Thinking about getting a travel trailer since I camp alone with the kids a lot in the summer, spring and fall for quick weekends. Does anybody do this where you take, maybe 1 day, to create multiple 3 day weekends scattered throughout the year for little trips instead of taking vaca in longer stints? Do you feel more refreshed with lots of smaller trips, or more with a few long trips? Kids are 1 & 3.

In other words I'm flying home for Christmas and my mother just called to tell me that she just happened to accidentally run into the sweetest girl from her church that she just knows I'll get along with and accidentally invited her to our house for dinner the night that I get home. Deadass the woman will not rest until I am tied down. Pray for me!

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

Started talking to this guy through group a group telegram and one day he offered to pay for my lunch as I had helped him out with something. Since then he has been offering to pay for my dinners, salon visits, shopping etc and I have accepted 3-4 times. I am in a steady relationship and my boyfriend doesn’t know about this. The other guy just says he likes paying for my stuff and there’s no agenda. Is this a little weird?

I don’t understand how someone can lie about loving you for 6 months. We were together for almost a year (broke up a week before our anniversary). I said I love you first and he said it back. I asked for more reassurance last month with saying I love you more often. Now all of a sudden he said he didn’t know if he loved me and that love meant marriage for him. Okay well great thanks for telling me this now, 6 months after it was initially exchanged. I don’t understand how he could do that.
