I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I had an interview w/ the Hiring Manager at Boston Consulting Group for a position and it went so well that the HM said on the spot I was going to be moving onto the next round. Its been weeks since that interview & I've had to follow up w/ the recruiter 3x asking for an update. I mentioned interviewing elsewhere but prioritizing BCG. He finally responded to that saying he was going to debrief with the HM and get back to me but nothing... what gives?

Hey, for dental assistant roles, don't prep like a generic interview. Lean into the hands-on side. Know your sterilization protocols, OSHA stuff, and be ready to talk through chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, instrument passing, suction, all that.
Have your cert dates ready too if you have CPR, x-ray, or CDA.But the biggest thing they're looking for is someone who can keep a nervous patient calm. Have a real story about a time you helped an anxious or hurting patient feel better. That hits harder than just listing procedures.
Practice saying your answers out loud tonight, even to yourself. The difference between knowing it and saying it smoothly under pressure is huge. You got this tomorrow. Knock it out.
That was amazing advice thank you so much ill tell you how it goes tomorrow! Have a good rest of your day
For a dental assistant interview, prep 2 or 3 quick examples around sterilization, keeping patients calm, accuracy with charting, and helping the dentist stay on schedule. Also bring one thoughtful question, like how the office trains new assistants on workflows. If you want to rehearse answers out loud tonight, https://aural-ai.com is an optional way to practice.
