I am at a crossroads where I need to decide between a generic program manager role or specialise in digital marketing? Need advise on how to decide! What has betting future growth??
I have an experience of 5 years

Joined big law in 2018, thought I’d wait 3 years before going in-house.

Covid hits, so decided to wait that out before going in-house.

Recession is hitting, so gonna have to wait this out before going in-house.

At this point, I’ll be a 7th year associate before I feel safe going in-house.

Bruh.

I’ve been with firms for 6 years. I struggle (not that I’m not intellectually capable of doing this job), I just hate the detail oriented nature of this industry. Everything gets scrutinized so carefully and most things I stayed up late for doesn’t matter.

I just got PIP talk and they are pushing me out next year. I’m kinda relieved. I want to leave law completely and be someone on the operation side. Eventually I want to be an COO.

How do I get there from here?

Do Big 4 TAS groups mostly hire seniors in audit? Can you do exactly two years as an audit associate and then jump to Big 4 FDD?

So my ultimate goal is to be in deals advisory/TAS team. I spent about 9 months in risk assurance at PwC. I requested to transfer into their core line, but it didn’t work out so I’m now accepting a role at EY within their FSO assurance team to get that GAAP|financial statement experience. Anyone have any recommendations/advice on how to eventually get to deals?

Is there any limitation or chances of facing issues on Not having laptop with me(for other exit clearances).
