Hi all, after weeks of discontentment and eventually resigning, my partner was transferred to a new manager and team. This new manager has invited the team to their home for dinner, 8pm.

I am uncomfortable about the whole thing, but I am open to feedback on this. Yes or no?

My objections: The time, my spouse just stated they hate this place, my spouse has only met & known these people for 2 days.

Important question! Any strategies for getting out of work zoom happy hours? Other than ignoring requests and not showing up, which has been my MO so far. But it’s getting a bit awkward.

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

Should I start panicking or simply start looking elsewhere? They even they even told me if I was looking elsewhere or planned on doing so also. I found it weird in a way.
