Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

I'm not sure about every agency, but at mine we don't hire entry level comms strategists. We convert over from digital/social strategy, media, or even account, when those people show an aptitude for it.
My suggestion would be to move into one of those departments (ideally not account) while keeping an eye on the prize of Comms. Get close to the Comms people, chat them up and impress them.
Your finance background could be uniquely valuable here. Look up Julian Cole’s work on campaign blueprints to learn a about why budgets matter when making a comms plan. And then take some of your agencies recent campaigns and proactively come up with some audience insights that lead to tactical opportunities for innovative work within Jose campaign constructs. Partner with a producer friend to price out those tactics, try to keep each under 50k in production. Get an intro to the head of strategy and say hey, I’d love to move into comms strategy, here’s why a finance background is valuable, here’s some proactive work I’ve done for our recent campaigns that shows what I’m capable of and could you please consider me for new business or as a helping hand for any new briefs that come in.
Thank you! That’s super helpful, strategy in general is really tough to get into it seems without the “proper” schooling. I’d love to get a foot in the door and make out a path that way.
Appreciate your feedback!
