Plaintiff’s PI/Med-mal attorney, thanks to a good relationship with a former client who is in HR at a major health system I have an interview for an in-house associate’s position. Any advice on how I can market my skillset so I don’t blow this?

I have my first jury trial as a plaintiff’s attorney next week. I’ve first-chaired 12 jury trials as a insurance defense attorney but this is my first trial on the plaintiff side. I’m really nervous about losing because the case isn’t great, I’m probably rusty thanks to the pandemic, and my client is depending on me. Any tips?

4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. I respect the solo a lot, he’s a mentor, but I’ve got kids and I gotta get paid. Trying not to burn bridges, but I can’t wait years to get cut in. Advice?

NYC-area PI lawyers, who do you think is the best plaintiff-side lawyer or firm in the area? Who would you want to handle a major PI or product case for a friend? (Assuming, of course, that you couldn't handle it yourself.)

What's Morgan & Morgan like to work for? They are recruiting a lot and wondering whether it's worth it to jump ship. Particularly interested in what the environment is like, whether the cases are good quality or whether they just go for volume, and whether the comp lives up to what they promise.

Insurance defense attorney here. Has anyone had difficulties receiving the films from providers? Usually when we process the authorizations we only get the reports without the actually films. The providers always make it difficult to get the cds. Thank you.

Those who switched from Plaintiffs work to Defense, what was it like? What did you like about it, what didn’t you like? Considering a switch...

What kind of split does your firm give you for bringing in cases? Trying to negotiate with my firm for an increase. Currently, I get 15% plus my base salary.

How do y’all handle attorneys fees award in your retention agreements? Right now I have it as basically a bonus in addition to the contingency, but I have a potential client asking that it be deducted from the gross amount for purposes of calculating the contingency.

My thing is, the fight for attorneys fees is a huge fight in and of itself (not to mention rarely awarded). What incentive do I have to fight for a fee award if I’m not really benefiting from it??
