I’ve had it for a year and it’s great. I did have an issue with autopay at the beginning, apparently if you enrolled in autopay and “rent protect” Wells Fargo (the bank behind it) it would count rent as the autopay, never actually pay the cc balance, yet charge no interest. Free money from the most evil financial institution out there. They’ve since fixed it.
Bilt support itself is mostly bots/unhelpful folks in SF, but there is so much VC money behind this. So milk it for all its worth before they fail.
I’m not hoping they fail, but I’ve seen this movie before. For a recent example, just look at what happened to Brex. That was the darling new thing on the block. Then there are cards like the CSR where chase actually looses money on them. Bilt doesn’t even have the benefit of an annual fee…
Remember Bilt isn’t a credit card company. It’s Wells Fargo. So any fee revenue gets split. They are inviting massive coats for acquisitions (see recent rent day promos). They got their most recent infusion of cash in Oct 2022, we’ll see if and when they need more.
Been using the Bilt card for a year with no issues. Honestly not even sure how you could have missed payments as effectively just sets up an intermediary bank account that gets billed for rent, which then shows up on your cc statement.
You won’t be able to pay your mortgage with it without extra fees. No brainer if you pay rent though.
