Hi Everyone! I just passed my 3 exams for the Enrolled Agent certification with the IRS. I’m looking to start the path to the CPA. Any recommendations on which CPA exam to study for first? I also work in tax, if that makes a difference. Thank you everyone!

Two schools of thought. Do REG or TCP first to build confidence. Doing it this way helps you develop a study flow/routine that works for you and you can build upon that as the tests get harder.

Second way to think about it is get the hard one done FAR (imo) and after that the rest will feel easier (audit still will give some folks grief). I personally took the first route but it really depends on what you feel like will get you there. Cheers, congrats on the EA!

Is CMA worth getting after getting the CPA? Or is it better to get the CFA. Also don’t have much finance background so I don’t know if I can pass the CFA will require a lot of hard work. Interesting in hearing people’s thoughts.

I have no plans in leaving PA anytime soon but I figure maybe I should look into another certification that holds value and makes me more marketable compared to my peers. Appreciate any thoughts and advice.

- Also considering going to a t14 MBA in future.

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's Master's in Management. They both have the same requirements, generally speaking, including a field immersion course that serves as a capstone in the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?
