I want to get a high paying career to maintain the COL in San Diego.

Should I get a PhD in physics or is there anything out there for me at BS or MS level?

I don’t mind working in other quantitative fields outside physics. I have python, MATLAB, and Java experience.

How much should an L2 engineer with over 4 years of experience working for an MSP be making in NY metropolitan area? I am jack of all trades working on ESXi, Windows Servers, firewall, switches. I am have dilemma, I have been with my present company for over 10 years and I can’t seem to advance there. I have applied for over 15 different jobs and nothing seem to happen.
