Depends on what you want and how far out you’re willing to go. If you want to live in Houston proper you have to be careful about school zoning within Houston ISD
I grew up in Houston - HISD is the absolute worst. Switched to Spring Branch ISD in HS and it’s the best thing my parents did for me. Not sure it has the same rep as 15-20 years ago (that # hurts to say..) but I think school zones are really weirdly set by neighborhoods they want to allow in. I would definitely look in to those - better school zones want better neighborhoods.

Need more info on your preferences.
- budget
- location
- "vibe"
- family now/expectations
- ethnic community, if you're targeting one
The Atascocita area is really starting to come up with nice neighborhoods like the Groves, Balmoral, Fall Creek, and Summerwood. It’s all close to the beltway and has an easier commute into town on 59 than anything on 45 or 10 in my experience.
Katy/Cinco Ranch area is nice, and with good schools. Only drawback is you are an hour from downtown, if you commute.
Nice big houses.
CCISD school district is good. That would be Pearland, Friendswood, Clear Lake, League City, Webster, Kehma, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, El Lago, and a few more places. All of these are nice places to live, and it's not that far from Galveston or Baybrook Mall area I hope that helps 😊
More importantly what’s your budget
It really depends on your budget
Also, where do you work? Traffic is a big consideration if you go into an office
I'm remote!
Are you single? Married? Is it important for you to be close to certain parts of town? (Ie, Galleria, Upper Kirby, Heights,)?
Single. Not familiar with the Kirby area. Since I'm remote, I'm open to being in any area as long as it's safe.
If you’re remote, why would you ever choose to live here?
I like Houston lol

Spring Branch, Midwest, Meyerland, Bellaire, Shadow Creek Ranch, Heights are good areas if you find a good price. Consider what you want though. Do you want kids, easy commute to downtown/galleria/chinatown/etc, good schools, walk ability, parks? I live in Rice Military or Lower Heights and I love it.
Thank you sooooo much!!
