Hi Fishes, need advice for my mother who retired this year and got a lump sum of 30 Lacs. Where will it be wise for her to invest? Nothing long term but short term with best interest. Any pointers/help is much appreciated.

For short term FD is the best, check for some post office schemes, at the age of 60 its not wise to put it in MF especially in equity

like

You can opt for FD, SCSS or any other Annuity plan.

I sat in the same classes with these folks for 2 years — probably outperformed some of them academically. I’ll never have that kind of earning potential because I didn’t come from the “right background” pre-MBA.

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

Just realised that could've started early. I'm in mid 20s and thinking about investment. Tried watching YouTube videos. But I have pretty basic questions :
1. Where do I even start?
2. What %age of income should I invest?
