“Tone policing is defined as "a conversational tactic that dismisses the ideas being communicated when they are perceived to be delivered in an angry, frustrated, sad, fearful, or otherwise emotionally charged manner." Managers striving to create a workplace based on equity and inclusion must understand how tone policing silences members of marginalized groups and allows discrimination to persist.” https://www-businessinsider-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.businessinsider.com/how-to-identify-and-help-stop-tone-policing-in-workplace-2020-8?amp

Yes go for IRA, 1% fee is daylight robbery
Of course they are. That is how they make money. Do you currently have a IRA? If so Roth or traditional? Do you need someone to manage an IRA for you? If the choices in the new 401k are good, I would roll it there, especially if you use traditional 401k and not Roth.
Roll into an IRA (lots more options than a 401k, can usually find lower cost options of same funds) but do not pay a fee. It’s free and easy to open one with Fidelity or Schwab.
The main drawback to me is is you do a backdoor Roth IRA, this causes problems
If you ever plan on doing a back door Roth, don’t roll to an IRA. If that’s not a problem for you, do roll to an IRA, and don’t pay 1% management fee.
I peaked at the salesforce 401k online. It looks good and I would use it for this reason
I recommend Merrill Lynch and do a self directed IRA. Pick your index fund of choice S&P 500, total stock market, etc. there are no basic fees charged as it’s self directed. My 401k plans all include a fee structure.
What expenses does KPMGs plan charge? That is surprising. Is it just a small fee for the year? Our is like $20 a year.
Roll in a traditional IRA then you can covert to Roth later...
If you want to pay the tax that is a fine idea. It really depends on what they want to do with Ira contributions now and the future
