I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

Hi everyone!!! Last year I put together a list of classrooms to exchange valentines with! We mailed 1 valentine to each class and included a picture if we could, and a few things about where we live and things we do!
I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.
I have a form to fill out if you are interested! I will email everyone the list probably at the end of the week if not sooner!

MBB is not happening for you with that background. Maybe B4
Rising Star
Shoot your shot with MBB, but this is probably true.
Get into Big 4, get a promo, try for MBB.
Do you have an MBA? If yes, at BCG you’d come in at C. If no, you’d likely come in at A.
I’ve worked with construction project managers in my current role as Principal for BCG. Very little of what I do would be to transferable to what they do. I think the inverse is also true.
I still appreciate the variety of experience, but it wouldn’t be easy to use it to skip levels.

Or try for b-school
Thank you all for your honest feedback - it's truly helpful. I should add... No MBA but I would equate my project experiences to startup work. We figure out all aspects of each project from contracts, financials, client relations, AHJs, design, engineering solutions, procurement, manpower, etc. My growth is about 2-3x of average pace at my company. I've been on some high profile projects. I've overseen thousands of workers indirectly (managed their managers). I know many qualified candidates do this the right way w/ a prestigious academic background, MBA or other advanced degrees. It is what it is for me. Spending years in the industry also has its merits. I'm seeking advice on how to prove my merits coming from non-target school and industry. I need an opportunity to interview and show my abilities to navigate a case interview.

If you have a top school on resume you can shoot for mbb, if not network heavy and maybe you can get an interview. Even if you have a very impressive CV its hard to put it across, many people embellish their accomplishments and if you’re at an unfamiliar company to them (in terms of career progression etc) your quick rise might not even be properly assessed.
Not trying to be a sceptic but just to adjust your expectations. I know plenty of folks who made the transition from Industry to MBB but its not an easy thing.
Happened to me at a startup - my boss had no idea Manager at B4 is higher than Manager in industry esp because it was a quick rise for me
Get into a M7 MBA program to transition your career.
Check out Protiviti. We have a capital projects and contracts division that may be a good fit for you. DM me for an email address to send your resume.
What’s your goal?

I have knowledge of both industries. You can definitely make the switch but you’re gonna want a good B school on your resume. And although a PM in construction does way more than a PM in consulting, it isn’t going to impress in and of itself because it’s a lower level role, but you’re correct that you can use your experiences to aptly identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Construction is stuck in the dark ages and despite what they say they are going to keep lagging behind everyone else’s modernizations. Get out while you can if your interests are are you stated. You’ll continue to be frustrated. I was. 🤪
Get a referral and you'll probably get an interview
I have the exact same background as you.
MBB wasn’t happening for me, but did have offer at D. I went with a different firm in end.
If you are looking to get into Big4. Look for Capital Projects practice. All of them have one with differences in type of work/client. Your experience is very relevant to the work these practices do and can be considered a lateral hire. You can come in as Sr Consultant given that you have managed people. And no you don’t need an MBA to get into B4. They value industry experience over B school. Hope this helps!
