Hi there! I am looking to pivot from occupational therapy into healthcare tech. I have 12 years of experience with EHR systems within various settings. The titles of jobs I have been applying to have been: clinical analyst, epic analyst, clinical informatics, application analyst, etc. I am focusing on applying for jobs that would sponsor me to get Epic certified. Any words of advice? I've only been applying for the last 2 months and have tailored my resume for "epic analyst" job descriptions.

Do you have any EPIC training or certs that you can refer to in your resume? Without that nothing sticks out about you and you fall into the application pile.

like

The experience I have is EPIC end-user x 2 years. That along with other EHR experience is already listed on my resume.

May I ask why you are pivoting from OTA to healthcare tech ? just curious why people from direct patient care are pivoting

I have been in the field for 12 years and no longer have the passion I once did. I have switched between various settings to try to find the spark again, but it's no longer there. Also, being a COTA there is very little opportunity for advancement unless you return to school to further your education. I enjoy helping people, but no longer want to engage in direct patient care.

I left my old job the end of January (due to compensation) and hate my new job. I don’t sleep and am constantly stressed. I have been interviewing since May, but I can’t seem to find a good fit that has an insurance Plan that fits my needs. I am thinking about reaching out to my old job (very small and tight knit) to see if there’s a position available for me still. They told me there would be when I left…what is the best way to go about this?

My SO has ~100K sitting in a savings account. She’s a student so very low income. Does it make more sense to start a 401K + IRA and invest it in chunks of 25K? Or max out this years retirement and then just throw the rest in an ETF?

If you are good enough, I will even cover for you to coordinate with your primary job. DM me if you are interested as I’m tired of the crappy recruiting company we are contracted with.

Some recruiter in Accenture lined me up for an interview for a role which was not in my skillset ( by saying that this is just an evaluation exercise and they will map me to the right role) and obviously I got rejected. Now I see that I am not eligible to apply the role which I was targeting for the next 6 months. Any idea how can I get this escalated so that the recruiter ( Accenture employee) should at least be careful in future before fooling a noob like me?

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…
