Hi yall, I have an interview for an Amazon PMT L7 role. I’ve interviewed for L7 PMT a few times and I’m just curious what the odds are to get a role like this with my background.

*I’m Canadian and w a background in startups (no big tech), most recently as head of product. The verticals align closely with the positions and I have ~10 YOE with a background in investment banking.

Guess im just wondering, if I have a real shot at a role like this or am I just being interviewed for the heck of it?

Anyone know why AlixPartners is the only firm that doesn’t seem to have any active job postings for M&A or restructuring, while all the other firms out there are hiring like crazy?

I don't like my job, the responsibilities and tasks aren't right for me or my lifestyle.

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

A much much smaller (20 people) company offered me a role.

With the global economic situation as is, is it worth the risk to change to a job I know i'd like more with less pay, and potentially less job security?

Expecting an offer this week or early next week, but want to know when you start negotiating the salary? When you receive the call from the company or wait until receiving the formal offer letter? I work for a late stage(ipo) start up, earlier this year we were acquired & since then they got rid of our yearly bonuses and gave us an ESOP grant.
2 RIFs later we are almost bare bones. Since we are coming up on our usual yearly evaluations many of us assumed (with multiple conversation from our managers) that pay raises and promotions were due.
In a recent All hands we found out that this year there will be no pay raises nor promotions based off merit. Is it time to jump ship?

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out

Tech company lay offs….are they soon to be inevitable?!

There is lots of companies really taking a hit in the tech space. Is this something that people are nervous about? Many seem to still be having a hiring push but with the button falling (IMO this is still just start we have a long way to go to bottom out) will that halt and layoffs ensue? And if so, which depts do you think will get hit the hardest?

I interviewed with a company last week and the interviewer said he would submit my notes to the hiring manager and I would hear back this Monday from HR on next steps/if they want to move forward. I didn’t hear back yesterday so I emailed HR and she said she wasn’t part of the hiring decision so would reach out to the initial interviewer for his feedback. I haven’t heard from her and it’s been 24 hours - starting to get worried. What should I do? Does this mean they’re not interested?

I had an interview yesterday for an AM position for a start up. The salary is 30k more than what I’m making now and it seems like the culture is much better than my current company. I prepped for days… I bombed it. The interviewer repeated two questions because I wasn’t answering them in a way they wanted. Can I just say that was a humbling experience🙃

Question fellow fishes: How long do we actually think fintech is going to dominate? When it comes to substantial wealth, security outweighs convenience. Seems to me like people reach an upper limit with fintech apps before switching over to traditional banks and firms. What say you?
