Hi all! I posted here a couple months ago right after getting laid off. It’s been almost 3 months of applying, and no luck. I am starting to get worn out, and I feel the imposter syndrome creeping in. I feel like I need to revamp my resume again. Anyone interested in looking at it? I am looking for operations, project management, or program management roles.

Would you rather:

Be laid off unexpectedly with an immediate termination date but you have a severance package.

OR

Have three weeks notice the end of your contract is up and won’t be renewed but have no benefits because you’re a contractor?

Currently going through the latter and curious how others who have lost (or will lose) their job would feel.

Hi, I am an engineer with a master degree . I worked for more than a decade as an engineer. I then switched to product marketing through mba. I was recently laid off from a series B startup . I have 3 years gap due to mba and children. I am 44 . I know I am way way behind in my career. I have an upcoming interview . The position is product manager ( 175k base + yearly bonus, no stock ) . I know that many look to exit into Product Management, but I have never seen so many Project Management roles open. When I first got my PMP, it was difficult to find roles unless very senior. Also, didn't see the short terms of imprisonment they get. 3-5 years for breaking doors, windows, threatening hitting and killing federal employees, urinating on the floors etc., destroying government property at our Federal capitol where our laws are made?
