Got laid off today at deloitte. Is anyone hiring
As an ADC applying this summer for 2022 start, I haven’t gotten a chance to connect with any L.E.K. Consulting members and I really want to get to know the company better before moving on with my application. Any L.E.K. Consulting fish out there willing to spare a few minutes to chat about their work, the company, the culture etc? Thanks!

Senior associate - you have no basis for stating/knowing whether the majority of people laid off were women or minority. Did you get the list? Your one office purview was extrapolated ? Sounds like a great sampling technique. I have viewed the EEOC reporting over last several years from proposal submissions it has improved significantly over the years and comparable with other firms in comparable geographies based on real reports.
Wait you have access to EEOC reports? Do firms usually win in those complaints?
.. of minorities in their workforce, within the top 10 accounting firms. I pray for a future where white male privilege gives way to more racial and gender equity.
Thank goodness the big 4 will solve the social and racial injustices by hiring all the POC students! Really, All firms will need to be “successful” to make a real impact - we should work together
On my team the only person I expect to be laid off is the only black female. She has performance issues that we’ve been discussing for some time, and her performance issues have nothing to do with her race. But how will that look or be perceived if the only person laid off is the only black person on the team?
Good point about confirmation bias, worth considering here.
In my case, we had very high expectations for this black colleague and hired her out of a few strong candidates.
Before this weekend, I did not think about her race at all in terms of her performance. Honestly, they were totally unrelated in my mind. But now I’m wondering if I’ve missed something. I’m trying to be anti-racist and wondering how I, as a white person, am expected to think about this situation.
Can’t speak to the lay-offs, but I heard from some campus recruiters at various firms that say it’s very difficult to hire minorities because the big4 get there first and hire them before anyone else has a chance. Something to consider when you see less diversity at smaller firms, it’s not always done by choice. Don’t get me wrong, not saying the desire to hire minorities is completely selfless (as there are many business reasons for doing so), but sometimes even when they want to it proves difficult.
The diversity programs for big4 now start as early as high school. The applicants are then pipelined through an internal firm services internship and then a client facing one the following year, before being offered a full time.
^Looks like the marketing department has been working overtime at Crowe. Rather than these childish retorts, can you (Crowe 3 and 4) tell us how many minority partners are there at Crowe? I did not come across a single black senior staff - let alone Manager, Senior Manager, Director or Partner. This firm is white as a lily.
What other firms do you see a plethora of minorities? There are also other minorities that exist. Also geographic demographics play a big role as well. All we can do is keep making efforts to attract people that are diverse and match well with our diverse client base.
Did not even process this but everyone from my office that was let go was either a woman or a minority... Don't know the total make up of everyone laid off but that was definitely the case at my office.
C4, get a life and lay off the Crowe koolaid while you’re at it
Maybe I should look for a job there. Better than the white guilt lectures from all the millionaires.
Man, Crowe 2 is harsh. If you no longer work for the company, maybe you should change your label and get on with your life. I hope a change of scenery does you some good.
Just curious, how many minorities and women were laid off from the total?
Can they report to EEOC?
Women and minorities tend to make up a larger proportion of the lower ranks. The people laid off tend to be in the lower ranks.
Crowe 1 which office are you from?
I personally knew 4 people who were let go. 3 were white males. If I use the same method of extrapolation as these other people, 75% weren’t “minorities”.
