Houston, TX Public Accountants! My public accounting firm is evaluating our comp structure for our Houston office and I am collecting data to help inform any adjustments we make.

It would be super helpful if you could share your title, years of experience, department, any bonuses and size of firm. Also, do you feel you are fairly compensated?

Thanks in advance!

Senior 3 105k, SALT tax in Houston

like

Sounds like you need to finish the CPA and you’d get a big pay bump to manager.

New tax manager, 120k, national firm. I guess decent in Houston, I know I can get more else where but I’m happy with my team and wlb, that’s why I’m sticking around.

Thanks!

Big 4 Dallas Audit & I know for a fact our Houston office pays the exact same. Senior 2, this will be my fourth busy season all at the same firm. Current comp is $101k plus bonus. Bonuses last year ranged from 18%-7% based on your ranking, with about 50% of seniors getting a 7% bonus.

I feel very fairly compensated with a bonus on the higher end.

Thank you!

I’m so tired of US companies hiring remote Canadian employees offering to pay a fraction of the price for the same role.

This is consistent across the majority of the tech companies. While I am looking to exit consulting, don’t want to be paid 50% of what my colleagues would be making across the border.

I’m on the consulting side (FDD) and I’m curious if there are PE firms with good WLB. I’m happy with my pay, growth, and hours. PE interests me but I don’t understand why anyone would want to consistently work 65+ hours a week every week. What’s the appeal? Making double the pay? What’s the exit plan?
