Going. Masks optional.
I’ve learned after being in and out of lockdown for the last 18 months that the gym is critical for my mental health.
Couldn’t agree more
Rising Star
I’ve been lifting at the gym and see the biggest and most gifted physique and NFL athletes in the world.
Not a mask in sight since May 2020.
Lifting weights and gaining muscle mass is about the best thing you can do for all-cause mortality.
Rising Star
You’d have to take an absurd amount of steroids and other anabolics + copious amounts of foods for years on ends for it to be “not healthy”
My gym literally has a vaccination wristband you need to enter.. super annoying to wear and remove it every time at the gym. So strange

I know you don’t live in Florida 🤣
I go during “off peak” hours so less people T the gym. Spray the equipment before and after use
Some gyms also checking vaccination cards - pretty comforting, though I’ve been going the last year as well

Oh god no.
Couldn’t be any less worried about catching Covid if I truly tried.
It’s almost been 2 years…the world population is, what, halved by now? I would say be cautious
I’ll admit it- I’m a mask on chin person at the gym and would rip that thing completely off if attendants weren’t around. Yes I’m that guy and honesty don’t give a shit about covid anymore. But guess why? I’m pro-vax and vaccinated. Shocking I know, anti-mask and pro-vax at the same time. Get those gains!! (And fee free to berate me on being anti-mask 😜)
It’s hard to keep people in fear for too long if they don’t mis it up a little especially with a survival rate of 99.7%
I still haven’t been going to mine (Equinox) but I’ve been using the Equinox+ app which is just as good for me. I also feel less inclined since I’m wfh so I’ve gotten lazy and I’m getting results with the home workouts. But I imagine once we go back to the office I’ll start going in again, esp since I think equinox is checking vax cards and stuff.

Same as I did coming out of lockdown in May of 2020. I’m packing up and heading there right now now. I’ve been going 5-7 days a week since it reopened and I’m going to keep going as long as the doors are open.
Pro
Not doing it. Invested in a barbell, squat rack, dumbells, bench and stationary bike - totally worth the $$. Never setting foot in a gym again.
If you vaxxed, hit your lats
If I didn't have a home gym I'd be going to a commercial gym. Be cautious, social distance, minimize time there and try to go when it's not crowded. For me, benefits outweigh the risk but that's not going to be the case for everyone.

I go to a studio where we mask unless on our mats & distance mats
We all have to regularly confirm no illness
There’s very little airflow by design which is not great, so if our city wide numbers start changing or there’s an influx of winter people I’d reconsider
Been going back since early in the year. Fully masked and doing personal training too. Gym is attached to local hospital so healthcare protocols apply to staff and facilities
Honestly covid wasn't really my concern. I started going back and got a super bad bug and idk if it had to do with the masks, isolation, etc. But I was sick for a solid 10 days and it wasn't covid. If going I like the Under Armour mask, I'm not one to wear gloves when lifting... Do it. Gyms are germ zones to begin with, even the best ones. I also noticed the times that use to be less busy are busy. Hard to time it
Been going since they opened back up. I wear masks and actually writing this sitting in my gym. I’m the only one wearing the mask
