Big 4 vs International Law firms - discuss….
Hello all, I have an offer from Quantiphi and another famous travel company which is building a technical arm for themselves. Both the companies are offering same compensation. HRs are calling for offer acceptance. I am leaning towards Quantiphi as the culture is well known to me.
But I have to decide soon. Should I accept both the offers and then decline one at the time of joining. I am new to this and find this a little unethical. Can someone help?
Hey,
Is it a good idea to join Paypal for Software Engineer III from Walmart Software Engineer III, for the base salary of 35LPA and 9L RSUs per year for Chennai location ? I am currently withdrawing 24LPA as base and 4.2 as Variable and 3.5L RSUs vested for 4 years.
I have been told that I'll be part of Risk team under Paypal Transactions domain. Any Idea how is the work culture and tech stack here in this team?
Great idea! 👏
Hey what's ur number

How bad does it look on a company when they hire you knowing they will restructure or be bought out in 6 months?
Awesome point. You’ve gotta take care of yourself first!
What else are you supposed to do, sit around for 6 months unemployed? I’m sure they will understand - if they don’t, good riddance
We are all replaceable. You do you
Terrible. But if you don’t plan to ever want to work for that company again, cool.
For real though, not cool.
🙄
KPMG runs on people. We are all numbers and replaceable. Life is too short to think of these things. Take advantage of what you can.
Total agree, I'm over losing my nights and weekends. I want to have a life. Waiting for the right opportunity to leave KPMG..
D1, that literally happened to me. I was told PwC PS when I signed my paperwork and soon after Guidehouse.
We all were 🙄
I would tell them the truth, especially if you are considering coming back. If it is consulting they may be happy to have you for 6 months and as an alumni as well
Everyone is assuming OP got laid off or something but I didn't see them say that anywhere. What is the motivation for leaving current role? Is new role just to have income?
I actually am currently employed but am unhappy and don’t want to travel as much. Plus it’s more $$
You do you. Make good connections in that 6 months in case you want to go back.
G(fPPS) - and I'm sure 0 people felt bad about it
It's going to look like you got fired, then went back to school to cover for it
Consultant doesn't have enough context to go to grad school and make it worthwhile. Better hope it's a top school to justify the "lead time" if it's UMUC it's definitely going to look like you got fired from either the 6 month job or the one immediately preceding.
What’s to say you didn’t find out after you accepted - (disclaimer: i sat around for 9 months before grad school at it was the best decision)
