During busy season, I didn't study much - maybe like an hour a day. Outside of busy season, I studied every day after work for 2-3 hours and 4-5 on weekends. I spent 5 months studying for my first exam (the time paid off with a 95%) and then spread the remaining tests out over 18 months (November 2016, July 2017, November 2017, May 2018).
Some firms will let staff study during unassigned time nowadays. While I never had that opportunity myself, I made it work and passed all of them the first time around.
Put in the work and it will happen.
Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!! You kilt it on the first try!!
Mutilple choice practice questions all day for one week prior to each exam. Write down why you did or did not answer correctly. I found this approach to be the most efficient for me.
Thank you!! I will do that!
I think the biggest thing when studying for the exam is just disciplining yourself to stick to your study schedule. It’s so easy to say “I’m tired I’ll study tomorrow.” But the secret to passing is honestly discipline. Try to find an accountability friend, so you two could push each other. That’s what I did with a coworker and it definitely helped me to keep chugging along.
I did maybe 4 hours a day during the week and closer to maybe 6 on the weekends (mind you I was working in industry). I also crammed the equivalent of a flash card of super important information and timed myself writing it down.
MCQs for days. I studied FT during my MSA but not everybody has that luxury, so just budgeting whatever you can into each day is probably your best approach.

How old are you OP? If you’re 22-23, just study each day, do the questions and sim, you will be fine. If you’re a bit older, get the hell out of accounting it’s not a path you want to take. Low pay and long hours and definitely not worth it if you are older.

Yeah it’s not really worth it….
