So you're at KPMG?
🤫
The fact you are asking this question 10 years in makes me question your capabilities. You are over complicating this. Kill the interview, make them want you, know the number you want (salary and signing bonus), ask for it, and let them react. If they balk, you have a job currently, so you have the leverage. if they really want/need someone on their team with the skills you that you bring and you have demonstrated you will fit what they are looking for, they will generally meet your request unless it’s way out of bounds relative to the market for your skills.
And also that not everyone negotiates or knows market rates. Sheesh
170k base with 10 YOE is very much in the ballpark. Unless there’s something extraordinary in your background, I can say D will not bring you over as SM.
You may be able to get 10-15% base hike +signing bonus, but will have to rebuild your network and would still be at least 2 years from SM.
Thank you. Doesn’t sound like D is a good fit for me then, based on what you’re saying.
DM me for PwC referral
DM for a referral at PwC and I can check with the Hiring Manager if we can bring you as a SM

You can get $200k at M if your skills are in high demand but short supply. Firms are desperate for people right now because lots of consultants have gone to industry and the talent pipeline is dry.

I recommend you try PWC, they are aggressively hiring away talent from the other big 4s at the moment and paying top dollar for it.
Thanks but I asked around and they said they can only offer 10-20K on top of what I’m currently making. I don’t know what’s so compelling about PwC’s top dollar offerings unless you do?
DM if you think EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice could be of interest
Thanks. No it ain’t. I’m not a CPA

Don’t just think about base. I think most of the big 4 base is similar. Might be easier to go for M and ask for a bigger signing bonus
Try ACN CFO&EV. They are always hiring and pay much better base and with RSU! I have a friend who went from 180K to 230K plus 70K RSU (3yrs) at ACN. Similar YOE.
And ACN stock is performing well :)
