Billable stuff and pro bono. That’s it. Based on what I enter, no deductions for write offs.

In the 2 firms I worked for, pro bono could be counted as billable (up to a certain # of hours). Trainings, CLEs, publications, work on pitches, etc. were not counted as billable but were definitely expected. Written-off time still got counted as billable but it could tank your realization rate and collections. Documented medical leave (like maternity or paternity leave) would have your billable requirement pro-rated, but just a normal sick day or vacation you had to make up the hours.

At my firm, the first 1850 (min) is pure billables. After that, 100% of pro bono counts towards the bonus threshold (1950). And we also have an allocation for time spent on diversity initiatives.

First 1800 is billable, then need total of 2000. 100 can be like BD, recruiting, committees etc. 200 can be pro bono / diversity. Hours billed is what counts not hours realized
We have 1900 target for bonus. Up to 100 can be from pro bono and writing. You can get permission up to 200 pro bono.
