I think you have to step back and view the bigger picture.
First, you got laid off. You didn't intentionally go looking for less.
Second, after a layoff, you were blessed to be able to get another job in the same year. Hundreds of thousands of people didn't have that opportunity.
Third, your living at standards aren't affected despite making less money. You should be grateful that you can continue the life you know.
Last, what you make now is not what your have to make for the rest of your life.
Money isn't a defining characteristic. It's a facilitator. Be grateful for what you have and when it's time to make the next move, you can recoup more than what was lost. (Remember, you don't have to tell prospective employers your past salary, just your salary expectations based on the market value for the job & your skillset.)
It’s not ideal to be headed in the wrong direction for salary, but in the long term you may not be greatly impacted. If the current job is good and contributes to your long term career plans, then focus on being successful there and if salary is really important, map out the next 2-5 years on how to get back into the trajectory you were on. Are there other less tangible benefits with the current job as well (WPB, benefits, etc)?
