One of my favorite podcasts did an episode on Adderall. Most of the info won’t be new, but there were some interesting snippets in there. I also thought it was a useful educational resource to share with your family and friends.

I record via Teams. I can then use the transcript as we go along to help catch words I missed.
I also then write down time stamps of times that I feel like I couldn’t keep up with and go back to them later.
Great point on agenda in these comment s
I further solved the issue by drawing out the conference room table and listing names of attendees where they sat. Then attribute notes to the speaker or slide number
A junior consultant taking notes is an opportunity to see Partners and executives interact. You are taking more than notes - you are developing your skills to be a better speaker in the future.
It’s really helpful for me to have an outline/agenda ahead of time, and then I can put notes into the agenda as we go. I try to keep everything in as much of an outline format as possible (instead of stream of consciousness) so that it stays organized as the meeting progresses. Type it, don’t hand write it, and get really comfortable with how formatting works in whatever program you’re using as far as tabs, indentation etc. so you don’t get frustrated by that in the moment.
I agree. I just realized this recently. I used to be horrible at sending recaps of meeting notes.
I found that if I outline everything ahead of time (before the customer derails the meeting with off topic questions) it is so much easier to summarize the meeting and action items.
I write like a maniac. everything. then I can edit it out.
Been the only method that’s worked for me. In the moment I try to follow the meeting and just end up writing out an absolute mess of a document, then I have to go back after the fact and make sense of it all. It sucks when we have a client meeting then my SM asks if we took notes lol “yes but you’re not allowed to see them yet”
I record .. I have too much anxiety.
I secretly record bc i space out too much during convos I’m not actively participating in
Not sure about a windows solution, but Rogue Amoeba makes a great tool called Audio Hijack, which lets you build custom software-based audio workflows, like record from a program or audio source.
Build a template. Agenda, desired outcomes, topics discussed, decisions, and action items
Record it for sure, I use teams or otter with zoom and use the transcript as the building blocks for notes. I may occasionally jot something down that really stuck out to me, but otherwise it enables me to keep it focused and not stress about managing 20 million things at once
If you’re on a Mac, you can use something like Audio Hijack to record teams calls. I use it if I’m recording something stealthily.
I just watched YouTube videos about how to take notes effectively. I swear I had no idea that there is a particular "system" for notetaking. But I'm glad I learned about it.

I don't take on the job. I always refuse to take the task of taking down notes because I know what my tendencies are. I know how difficult it is for me to focus and I know I can't perform the task very well like others.
I’ve always recorded via voice memos on my phone in my pocket - I’ve done this most of my life before all the new tech (I’m 51), and once I listen back to parts I missed to update my horrific notes I then delete the recording. Seems simplistic but it works for me.
I write everything by hand and then go back later and type it out in an organized way. My hand written notes are atrocious, and I can barely read them sometimes, but once I organize them in a word doc, they’re actually super functional notes!
Write down everything, ask for confirmation if you captured it correctly.
When I started at my previous role, the older bosses told me not to take notes. They just talk and deliver nothing and forget everything. This was the VP of the PMO who was my boss (nice guy, just you can’t keep all that in your head)
Can you record the meeting?
You don't have to write an entire word. You can just abbreviate certain words especially those that get used way too often. It will give you a lot more time to process the next infos.
Mentioned it in a few places, but if you want to record meeting audio, you can use something like Audio Hijack on Mac (prob similar on windows) to record teams meetings.
Otherwise, I also like xmind as a mind-map tool, which lets me take stream of consciousness notes while listening. Otherwise I make bullet-form lists that try to capture what I need.
I also avoid taking minutes like the plague, if possible.
Bro the amount of meetings where at the end someone asks me to send the notes and I didn’t even realize I was supposed to be taking them..
Rule of thumb and good practice, you should ALWAYS be taking notes for yourself and others if you ever need to go back and review something.
told my manager that i cant because i have mental problems lol thankfully he seemdd to relate
I always record it. I could always listen to it and check if I missed anything.
I know it's difficult to take note of everything especially in a meeting of more than an hour long. As for me, I created my own system of notetaking, I created codes for certain words that get used almost all the time. Saves me time.
