I have an offer for a company abroad. Originally they wanted me to fly out and start the day after Thanksgiving (not celebrated in their country), but because of the holidays I suggested starting in either December or January with the ability to take some holiday days in December to fly back home for Christmas. They then proposed starting out remotely “as soon as possible” in the US as a contractor and then moving abroad to start full time abroad. (Cont)

I have been working in SEA region last 4 years. I feel burned out. I have 10yoe, I have try to move to other country but I pretty much suck in LeetCode. My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. I was in the office (pre-c19) on the Friday after thanksgiving so I could get some stuff done while it was empty. A peer Director was also there and asked me for help with something. I helped him a for while, then he said, “this is really helpful, I have to go to an all team meeting for 30 minutes, but could we finish after that?” Me: “an all team meeting today?” Him: “yeah, I always schedule an all team meeting on days like this so people can’t pretend to wfh when they are really on pto.” smh 🤦‍♂️

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?
