How do you recommend handling a direct report with career growth aspirations who has recently started going above my head pretty consistently and taking credit for group work. Higher ups are not redirecting and are reinforcing by setting up individual meetings, emailing directly without ‘cc’ing me, etc. Direct report is flaunting this with peers on the team, making me feel like they are undermining my authority and sending mixed messages about communication channels/chain of command.

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

If you see an associate has really low hours for the month, do you imagine them chillen on a beach somewhere or do you consider they probably spent most of their days sitting in front of the computer being “available”? 2. If you send an associate a random e-mail on a weekend like “Can you pull X and send to Y”, would you get annoyed if they responded saying they weren’t by a comp or would you consider it reasonable that they wouldn’t be by a comp on a weekend?

I blacked out and hit on a coworker at a work-related event. I would never have normally done it (aside from the stupid amounts of alcohol in my system) and they are in a committed relationship, making everything so much worse.
